Item Konštrukcia bezpilotného letúna s možnosťou VTOL(University of Žilina, 2025) Berki, Július; Škultéty, FilipArticle focuses on the design, construction, and testing of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities that does not require thrust vectoring mechanisms. The goal of the work was to create a simpler and more reliable prototype compared to most UAV convertiplanes, which use mechanisms for thrust vectoring, while being built from cost-effective materials. This UAV may be intended for the public as a DIY project. The article providing a design of the aircraft, including aerodynamic parameters, material selection, and electronic components. Airflow simulations using specialized software tools for aerodynamic analysis were applied during the development process. Experimental testing of the prototype was conducted in real-world conditions, including vertical take-offs and landings on a specially designed test polygon, where stability and hovering flight characteristics were monitored. Based on the results from the experimental tests, the success of the design was evaluated by the critical approach, which then led to the formulation of recommendations for improving the aircraft's design. The article also offers a guide to building DIY UAVs and provides a basis for further research in this area.
