Abstract

The implementation of technological innovations in civil aviation is essential for enhancing the efficiency of flight operations, safety, economic accessibility, and the overall attractiveness of commercial flights. One promising area of development is the application of stabilizing surfaces, specifically canard surfaces, which have historically been used primarily in military aviation technology. This study focuses on the conceptual design of implementing canard stabilizing surfaces on existing commercial aircraft, evaluating their benefits as well as analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of various other configuration solutions currently in use. In the practical part, a detailed analysis is conducted on the design of a stabilizing wing for the reference aircraft, the Airbus A320. This analysis includes analytical calculations of stabilizing characteristics and numerical flow simulations using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in the ANSYS FLUENT software environment. The results provide a quantitative assessment of the aerodynamic effects of applying stabilizing surfaces and their potential benefits for civil aviation.
