dc.description.abstractThis article examines false friends - words in different languages that look similar but have different meanings and their impact in crisis management. Misunderstandings caused by false friends can lead to serious communication failures, asillustrated by real-life incidents from the medical and aviation fields. The paper identifies commonly misused English-Slovak falsefriends in crisis management terminology and emphasizes the importance of mastering them. The author proposes practicallearning strategies, including practising model sentences and creating a personal glossary, to help professionals avoid criticalmisunderstandings.
