Technical and procedural resources of overhead bin security
(University of Zilina, 2022) Fraňková, Daniela; Rostáš, Ján
The article deals with the design of safety systems to prevent the opening of overhead wires in situations that are not in accordance with safe operation. The paper discusses possible variants of the functioning of the locks, as well as a theoretical part focused on the reasons for such behaviour of passengers. Subsequently, the article describes two options for locking overhead bins and a description of their operation and manufacture. The article concludes with an assessment of the usability of the locks and their potential.

Proposal of the FI (S) seminar program for DTO according to the conditions of CAA-ZLP-161
(University of Zilina, 2022) Michálek, Tomáš; Pecho, Pavol
The aim of this paper is to create a proposal for a seminar program for sailplane instructors. Since 2021, new European legislation has come into effect regulating the flight crew licensing. Part of this legislation is the obligation to attend a seminar for each instructor once every 3 years. The seminars can be organized by the declared training organizations (DTO), for which the organization of these seminars is new and have no experience with it, so this program proposal can help them organize the seminar. This research deals with current legislation, analysis of conditions imposed by EASA, analyses the current recommended flight instruction syllabus for new flight instructors together with the syllabus for training new pilots, analyses selected aviation accidents and finally analyses important chapters in aviation medicine.

The influence of air accidents on legislation in civil aviation in Slovak and Czech Republic
(University of Zilina, 2022) Bobek, Filip; Novák Sedláčková, Alena
This paper deals with the influence of air accidents on legislation in civil aviation in the Slovak Republic and Czech Republic. Firstly, it focuses on defining essential terms, organizations, laws, and regulations which are affecting air accidents investigation. All these elements are based on the aviation regulation L13 (ANNEX 13). Then it deals with detailed analysis of chosen air accidents that happened in Czech or Slovak Republic. As a result of previous research have been defined categories of the most common causes of air accidents between the year 2016 and 2020 which occurred in Czech and Slovak Republic and created their classification. The main goal of the paper was to identify new legislation measures and changes, which have been propounded or adopted to prevent another air accidents with the same or similar causes in the future. Among those regulations belongs for example area 100 KSA, AUPRT or background checks. Lastly it deals with the upcoming legislation changes affecting civil aviation in Slovak Republic.

Development of security measures at public international airports in relation to the history of threats against civil aviation
(University of Zilina, 2021) Pojedinec, Benjamín; Škvareková, Iveta
The security and safety of civil aviation at airports is important given the level of risks faced by civil aviation. It is a threat of terrorist attacks, smuggling or cyber attacks. We are trying to prevent all these threats and thus protect the health and safety of passengers. The paper deals with the issue of safety in civil aviation. The primary goal of paper is evaluation of the current situation at selected Slovak airports with regard to safety. The paper is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is required to present a theoretical view of basic concepts in aviation history air strikes, present and future conservation and the impact of human factors on the safety of air transport. The essence of the practical part is the evaluation of the current situation in selected Slovak airports and the implementation of a qualitative survey with the help of a questionnaire. Based on the analysis and the results of the questionnaire survey, suggestions are provided to improve safety at selected airports.

Analysis of implementation instrument approaches for hems heliports
(University of Zilina, 2021) Posluch, Samuel; Pecho, Pavol
In recent years, the trend of using a helicopters in the operation of the helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) has been increasing. The reason is the wide range of uses of the helicopter, fast and safe transport of wounded people using new copters. Nevertheless, it is not possible to operate flights in poor weather conditions with a sufficient number of interventions. There is a need to develop new procedures for flying even under conditions other than VFR flight rules. The current state of helicopter technology in Slovakia allows it and therefore it is appropriate that new procedures using GNSS be created to establish a safe flight. The aim of the analysis is to evaluate the input factors available to the operator and to create a design approach based on the legislative requirements for the use of GNSS systems on the selected heliport. The resulting approach design can be used as one of the options for creating procedures. Such proposals could also be implemented on other operational bases, for the creation of a network of instrument approach or departure systems, which would create space for increasing the safety of helicopter emergency medical service in Slovakia.

FAILURE RATE ANALYSIS IN AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Bugaj, Martin; Pecho, Pavol; Janovec, Michal
An aircraft is a complex object composed of many complicated and interrelated parts, components and systems. Reliability of all parts and systems is very important to aircraft because operation of aircraft can affect flight safe directly. Aircraft failure rate is an important parameter of aircraft operation to maintain the effective level of reliability. The failure rate is the probability of failure at a point in time. When a part, component or system is not functional it can be upgraded through replacement or repair, and the condition of the aircraft is restored to some degree. We can defined several approaches to aircraft maintenance. There are maintenance can be based on condition, which is, items are repaired when they fail. Failure during operation can have serious consequences, so detection of items with a high probability of failure through periodic inspection is a major component of maintenance. This paper analyses how we can define the aircraft failure rate and its impact on operational reliability of aircraft.
