Predstavenie projektu apvv-24-0153: vytvorenie dátového modelu a jeho implementácia do geografických informačných systémov na zvýšenie pripravenosti verejnej správy zvládať mimoriadne udalosti
(University of Žilina, 2025) Kubás, Jozef
A crisis management system is employed to ensure the protection of property, health, and lives. The required level of safety can be achieved through measures that prevent emergency events. If an emergency event occurs, the system should be prepared and apply appropriate procedures to address it. Subsequently, it must be capable of mitigating its negative impacts. To ensure the protection of the population, the first step is to assess the risks affecting individual elements and the monitored area. Therefore, it is essential to have relevant data and information about the area and to use them effectively. The project focuses on analysing the information needs of crisis management in the field of territorial risk assessment and their further usability within the data model. It enables the implementation of data management, which focuses on creating a data model and integrating it into geographic information systems to enhance the preparedness of public administration authorities. Such a data model within geographic information systems allows for the proper assessment of the negative impact of an emergency event on the affected area and the options for effective resolution.

Možnosti využitia 3D tlače na vzdelávanie v oblasti civilnej ochrany
(University of Žilina, 2025) Kubás, Jozef; Buday, Ivan
Emergency events can have severe impacts on human life, health, and property. Ensuring adequate protection requires preparedness not only from crisis managers but also from the general population. Education is a fundamental component of civil protection; however, it is often implemented inefficiently. Integrating educational tools and aids can significantly enhance the quality and effectiveness of the learning process, thereby improving readiness for managing emergencies. A variety of software solutions and tools are available to support education in civil protection, offering both instructional resources and simplified learning methods. Among these, 3D printing technology stands out as a particularly promising tool, enabling the production of a wide range of tangible teaching aids. The ongoing advancement of manufacturing technologies presents numerous opportunities to improve the educational process. This article explores, based on the findings of a conducted survey, the possibilities and effectiveness of utilising 3D-printed educational aids within civil protection training. The results highlight the added value of this innovative approach in strengthening both practical and theoretical preparedness for emergency response.

Technológia 3D tlače ako nástroj na zlepšenie vzdelávania v oblasti civilnej ochrany
(University of Žilina, 2024) Kubás, Jozef; Buday, Ivan; Ballay, Michal; Tobór-Osadnik, Katarzyna; Diemientiew, Grzegorz
Using 3D printing in education brings new opportunities for all ages and specific areas. This technology allows people to not only visualize but also physically create objects, which improves understanding of complex topics and promotes hands-on learning. For residents, 3D printing provides innovative ways to educate themselves while developing creative and technical skills. By combining theory with practice, 3D printing improves people's ability to understand and apply acquired knowledge in practical outcomes. This article focuses on the use of 3D printing as a tool for educating residents in the field of civil protection, exploring its potential in popularising science, technology and innovation. It analyses how 3D printing can streamline the learning process, facilitate the understanding of complex topics and promote the development of practical skills in different security fields. The article includes the results of a survey that focused on people's attitudes towards using 3D printing in education. The survey indicated that the majority of respondents viewed 3D printing positively and saw it as an innovative means of improving the educational process. The results of the survey offer a basis for developing strategies for more effective implementation of 3D printing in the education of the population.

Implementovanie testovania ochranných masiek do vyučovacieho procesu
(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2023) Kubás, Jozef; Kollár, Boris
Personal protective equipment finds its application in the civil protection system, especially during emergencies with the release of a hazardous substance. In a crisis event requiring the use of personal protective equipment, it is necessary for people to be able to use this equipment. The most common means of protection in civil protection warehouses are protective masks. Therefore, in this article, we have focused on comparing the CM-4 type protective masks and the more modern CM-5 and CM-6 variants through pilot testing. We used practical exercises for students of the Faculty of Security Engineering within the Civil Protection course to obtain data that allowed us to compare the protective masks. The aim of this paper is also to present a developed testing method that can be used to evaluate protective masks focusing on subjective qualitative characteristics.
