Item Rozvoj transverzálnych zručností študentov krízového manažmentu pomocou prístupu ESP(University of Žilina, 2025) Smolková, KatarínaAs crisis management evolves into a more interdisciplinary and high-stakes profession, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) training must adapt with innovative strategies that extend beyond linguistic accuracy. This paper analyses the incorporation of soft skills training into English for Specific Purposes education for students prepared for professions in crisis management. Emphasizing the growing demand for communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership abilities, the study draws on graduate profile descriptors from a selected university faculty and data from the National System of Occupations to identify key competencies required by the labour market. The paper outlines language learning activities designed to foster these soft skills within the ESP classroom and highlights the importance of aligning language instruction with real-world professional expectations. A student questionnaire is introduced as a self-assessment tool, providing insights into learners' awareness and perceived proficiency in specific soft skills. The findings endorse a redefined ESP model that actively facilitates the comprehensive development of future crisis managers.Item Systém bezpečnostního vzdělávání s využitím moderních trendů(University of Žilina, 2025) Mičulková, Tereza; Kotek, LukášThe article highlights the importance of education in physical security, based on the premise that security begins with each individual. In the event of a security incident, professional assistance is not immediately available, leaving individuals to rely solely on themselves. They must depend on their own preparedness, which includes specific knowledge and skills. In this way, their personal readiness is strengthened while also contributing to a safer overall environment. The aim is to design an effective educational system that, through a well-structured approach, can motivate individuals to actively engage with this issue. However, education itself may present a number of challenges, which can be addressed by drawing on modern trends. The article also discusses the advantages of applying artificial intelligence in the development of educational materials.Item Možnosti využitia 3D tlače na vzdelávanie v oblasti civilnej ochrany(University of Žilina, 2025) Kubás, Jozef; Buday, IvanEmergency events can have severe impacts on human life, health, and property. Ensuring adequate protection requires preparedness not only from crisis managers but also from the general population. Education is a fundamental component of civil protection; however, it is often implemented inefficiently. Integrating educational tools and aids can significantly enhance the quality and effectiveness of the learning process, thereby improving readiness for managing emergencies. A variety of software solutions and tools are available to support education in civil protection, offering both instructional resources and simplified learning methods. Among these, 3D printing technology stands out as a particularly promising tool, enabling the production of a wide range of tangible teaching aids. The ongoing advancement of manufacturing technologies presents numerous opportunities to improve the educational process. This article explores, based on the findings of a conducted survey, the possibilities and effectiveness of utilising 3D-printed educational aids within civil protection training. This technology allows people to not only visualize but also physically create objects, which improves understanding of complex topics and promotes hands-on learning. For residents, 3D printing provides innovative ways to educate themselves while developing creative and technical skills. By combining theory with practice, 3D printing improves people's ability to understand and apply acquired knowledge in practical outcomes. This article focuses on the use of 3D printing as a tool for educating residents in the field of civil protection, exploring its potential in popularising science, technology and innovation. It analyses how 3D printing can streamline the learning process, facilitate the understanding of complex topics and promote the development of practical skills in different security fields. The article includes the results of a survey that focused on people's attitudes towards using 3D printing in education. The survey indicated that the majority of respondents viewed 3D printing positively and saw it as an innovative means of improving the educational process. The results of the survey offer a basis for developing strategies for more effective implementation of 3D printing in the education of the population.Item Systém odbornej prípravy pracovníkov súkromných bezpečnostných služieb(University of Žilina, 2024) Zvaková, Zuzana; Boroš, MartinThe article describes the content of the concept of private security and the tasks of the personnel in charge of physical protection under the Private Security Act. The aim of the article is to describe the training system of private security staff set up by law and to identify shortcomings in this system. The training is described through the professional topics that are the content of the training and the associated hourly subsidy. The weaknesses in the system are then described in relation to the private security service, to the customer and to the physical security staff. The article is focused on the position of women and men in aviation sector form the position of equality in achieving of education, but also in the subsequent employment in the labour market in the Slovak Republic and in the world. The aviation market is currently probably the sector most affected by the crisis caused by the uncontrolled spread of COVID-19. The projected demand for air transport and the associated increase in the need for new skilled workers has turned into a precarious situation for all aviation workers within one year. The aim of the article is to compare the situation in the field of education of men and women as well as their subsequent employment as a commercial pilot in the Slovak Republic and in the world, but also to compare equality of access to education and subsequent applicability in the labour market in general. The aim of the article was to show whether the situation in the field of gender equality in the aviation sector is the same as in other sectors, or whether we still face discrimination today. The results of the article clearly showed that the employment of pilots on the labour market in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic is not in percentage terms at the same level as the percentage of female pilots who received university and academic education in the field of study professional pilot.Item Previerka osoby od roku 2022(University of Žilina, 2021) Lysina, Karol; Kandera, BranislavCivil aviation is constantly evolving, undergoing various changes. A background check of a person as a part of aviation security processes is no exception. This paper which deals with the issue of background check of a person in civil aviation in the conditions of the Slovak Republic and is divided into three main parts. The first part is focused on the basic definitions and requirements for background check of a person that are based on current EU and national legislation and on comparison with the legislation in the Czech Republic. The second part deals with changes in EU legislation in the field of background check of a person. The last part presents the necessary need for changes in national legislation caused by changes in EU regulations and a proposal for changes in national legislation in conjunction with practical experience in the process of background check of a person in the past and presentItem Prototyp výcvikového zariadenia určený pre hasičské jednotky(University of Zilina, 2021) Ballay, MichalThe article focuses on the hydraulic discharge device in relationship to car parts. It presents and describes a training device prototype, which is intended for fire brigade units. Training equipment itself significantly contributes to the research of conditions for intervention activities of the Fire and Rescue Corps, education and training of students. The training device enables the identification of the optimum shear point on the car, which results in improved workflow timing, making rescue operations more effective and increasing the performance of Fire and Rescue Corps members. The final part of the article describes the safety rules for using the device as well as individual benefits, from a scientific perspective or in terms of practical benefits.Item Vývoj komunikačního prostředí simulátoru na podporu řešení krizových situací(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Barta, Jiří; Kalenda, JiříExercises of the crisis management authorities, which test and verify both plans and capabilities, form part of the crisis preparedness. This article deals with the preparation and implementation of the exercise of crisis management authorities in the Czech Republic. The first part of the article deals with the preparation and putting into practice of crisis preparedness training using software and simulation tools and selected modules, tested at the gas supplies breakdown of large scale. Next part of the article focuses on the training of the crisis management bodies, describing all preparation and implementation phases. The results of the exercise were applied in an evaluation, which detected problems in the field of crisis communication. The exercises tested a simulator, which is being developed. This simulator allowed to record communication and thereby to create conditions similar to the real situation. Simulation has a considerable impact on preparedness due to the possibility to test and verify plans and capabilities of included bodies, identify deficiencies and create an environment for improvements.
